Pete's Message To His Fans

Hi Guys,

Seems like a lot of you are wondering what's up with this thing in the newpaper about me supposedly planning to leave Australia next year. I'm in Europe on a short tour right now and have had loads of emails and phone calls about this story (My Mum was certainly surprised!). It even made the news a bit in Holland and Germany so I figured I'd better set the record straight.

The truth is that I'm definitely not leaving the country permanently - it seems the guy who wrote that story misunderstood me or something but in any case I wanted to clear it up and put the correct details out there so there's no confusion about what I'll be doing.

What's happening is that I'm planning on spending the next European summer based in Germany and The Netherlands. It will probably be for about 4-6 months. We haven't really planned the details yet but the idea is to basically do an extended tour and have a bit of a holiday plus hopefully have time to write a new song or two in some new places. Either way we'll come back home to Oz when it starts getting too cold over here.

By the middle of 2009 it will be over a year since "Summer At Eureka" was released in Oz so there won't be any touring or suchlike left to do at home by then. Meanwhile there's a lot of good stuff happening for me in Europe and I'm really enjoying all these new experiences. It therefore just seems like a good time to spend some proper time over here. Australia will still definitely be "home" though. No ifs, buts or maybes.

So that's what's really happening and anyone who says otherwise has got their wires crossed. Meanwhile, thanks to all of you who've supported me online and in chat rooms. I'm really happy that so many of you seem to be liking the new music so much and it's been great to see those songs going down so well at our gigs. Thanks.
